Ivan & Chris Design is the trade name of Christopher Arturo Hernandez Villa, a sole proprietor (persona física con actividad empresarial) based in Nuevo León, Mexico. We are the party responsible for the personal information described here. Reach us any time at hello@ivanandchrisdesign.com. We are located in Mexico and we serve clients in the United States. When you work with us, your information is processed in Mexico and in the United States, and by the service providers listed below, which operate in the United States and elsewhere.

When you hire us: your name, your email address, and the information you choose to give us in our intake form — the room you want designed, its measurements, your style preferences, your budget range, what you want to keep or replace, photos of your home, and a sketch of the space — a rough floor plan you draw yourself.

We do not ask for your home address. We design your room from your photos, your sketch and your measurements. The only address involved is the billing address Stripe collects when you pay.

Our intake form runs on Google Forms, and Google requires you to be signed in to a Google account in order to upload files. When you do, Google records the name, profile photo and email address on that Google account and passes them to us alongside your answers. That is Google's requirement, not ours, and we cannot switch it off. If you would rather not sign in to Google, email us and we will find another way to get your photos — it is not a problem and it will not delay you.

When you pay: your name, email address, billing address and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number. Your card is handled entirely by Stripe.

When you email or call us: whatever you send us, and our replies.

When you visit this site: our host records standard server logs, including your IP address and the pages you request. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

To design your room and deliver it — that is the whole of it. Your photos, measurements and preferences exist so we can produce your moodboard, floor plan, renders and Sourcing Guide. Your email exists so we can send them to you and answer you. Your payment details exist so we can take payment and issue refunds. We also keep records of what we sold and to whom, because we are required to.

We do not sell furniture, décor, or other physical products. Any products we recommend are purchased directly from third-party retailers. We do not store your shipping information because we do not place orders on your behalf.

It also means no retailer pays us to put their product in your Sourcing Guide, and none of them receives your information from us.

We use third-party artificial intelligence tools to produce photorealistic renders. To do that, images of your space, and images and descriptions of your design, are uploaded to those tools and processed on their servers, outside of our control. Today these tools include OpenAI and other AI image-generation and rendering services that we may use from time to time. We use these tools only to make your renders. We do not use them to make decisions about you.

If you would rather we not put images of your home through an AI tool, tell us before your project starts and we will say plainly whether we can still deliver your package, and at what price. We would rather have that conversation than have you find out here.

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it and we do not plan to. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the companies that let us run this business:

— Stripe — takes your payment and holds your billing details.
— Google Workspace — including Gmail, and the Google Form you fill in, and certain Google services we use to manage client projects. Your photos and your sketch are stored in Google Drive.
— Cloudflare — our domain and email routing.
— Netlify — hosts this website.
— OpenAI, and other AI rendering services — render production, as described above.

Each of these has its own privacy policy, and we would encourage you to read the ones you care about. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

We may show your finished renders in our portfolio, on this website and on social media. When we do, we remove your name and anything else that identifies you, unless you have told us in writing that we may use them. We will never publish the original photos you send us without your permission. The renders are our drawings of your room; your photographs are yours. If you would rather your project never appear anywhere, email us and we will keep it out. You do not have to give a reason, and it will not affect your price or your service.

We keep your project files for as long as we are working together, and afterwards for as long as you might reasonably reopen the project or ask us a question about it. We keep payment and tax records for as long as Mexican law requires us to. Portfolio images, once anonymised, we may keep indefinitely — unless you ask us not to.

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can ask us to stop using it. You can ask us for a copy. Email hello@ivanandchrisdesign.com and we will answer within 30 days. We will never charge you for asking, and we will never treat you differently for asking.

There are limits we should be honest about: we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, and once your images have been processed by a third-party tool, our ability to reach into that tool and erase them is not absolute. We will tell you exactly what we could and could not do.

The CCPA/CPRA gives you the rights above, plus the right not to be discriminated against for using them. The categories we collect are: identifiers (including the name, email and profile photo on your Google account, if you upload files through our form), commercial information, internet activity, and visual information (your photos and your sketch). We collect them for the business purposes described above. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. You may use an authorised agent; we will ask for proof.

Several states — among them Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Texas — give their residents similar rights. Rather than sort you by state, we extend the rights above to every client, wherever you live. Ask, and we will do it.

Your project files are stored securely in Google Workspace, and your payment details in Stripe. Both encrypt data in transit and at rest, and we access both with strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. If information of yours is ever exposed, we will tell you, and we will tell you what happened.

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If the change is significant — if we start doing something with your information that this page does not currently allow — we will email active clients rather than quietly edit the page.
