Last updated July 2026. Everything is here before you pay — no surprises later.
These terms are an agreement between you and Christopher Arturo Hernandez Villa, a sole proprietor (persona física con actividad empresarial) trading as Ivan & Chris Design, based in Nuevo León, Mexico. "We" and "us" mean that person. By purchasing a package you accept these terms.
Packages are paid in full up front.
Your project runs over email — every deliverable, question, and round of feedback lives there, so you always have the full history in one place.
We take on a limited number of projects at a time to protect the quality of our work. Within 48 hours of your purchase, we'll confirm your start date. Your delivery timeline runs from that date, not the purchase date.
Moodboard: within 3 business days of your start date (or your discovery call, if you book one). 3D renders + Sourcing Guide: within 4–5 business days after your moodboard.
Optional at every stage. Reschedule at no cost with at least 24 hours' notice. If you miss a call or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, we'll offer one courtesy rebooking; after that, we move forward with your written profile, or a $30 rebooking fee applies.
Consultation 45–60 min; first package call 30 min; moodboard/design calls 30 min. An additional call outside the process (follow-up questions, no changes): $40.
Each room includes 2 revision rounds — adjustments within the agreed direction. Additional revision: $50. An alternate moodboard in a completely different direction (e.g., a moody version and a coastal version): $85. A change of direction or style after the moodboard is approved is equivalent to starting over, and carries your package's redesign fee.
A refund is available only if requested within 5 days of purchase and before your start date is scheduled or any work begins (less a 3% non-recoverable processing fee). Once your project has started, packages are non-refundable. Once your design has been delivered, no refunds apply under any circumstances.
Need to step away? Let us know in advance and we'll hold your project at no cost, as long as we stay in touch.
If we don't hear from you for 14 days (measured from your last reply), your project is paused. We'll send one friendly reminder — that's it. To resume a project paused without advance notice, your package's restart fee applies.
Once your final design and Sourcing Guide are delivered, your project is complete. Want changes later — weeks or even months down the road? We'll reopen it for your package's reopen fee. No need to purchase a new package.
As you shop, you're always welcome to send quick questions — "found this chair instead, does it work?" — and we'll gladly weigh in. Anything involving changes or updates to the design itself reopens the project.
All additional-service fees are fixed amounts and are never subject to promotions or discounts.
3D renders are visual representations of the design intent. When an exact product isn't available in 3D, a close visual stand-in takes its place; materials, colors, and proportions are represented as faithfully as possible. Your renders show you the feel and direction of the finished space.
Recommend us, and both you and the person you refer receive $50 off a package.
We sell design. We do not sell furniture, and we are not paid by anyone who does. No brand pays us a commission, a referral fee or a kickback. Every piece in your Sourcing Guide is there because we think it belongs in your room.
That independence has a consequence you should understand: you buy your own furniture, directly from the retailer, and that purchase is between you and them. We are not a party to it. We do not warrant any product, we do not control its price, availability, lead time, condition on arrival, or the retailer's returns policy, and we cannot resolve a dispute with a seller on your behalf. If a piece is discontinued or out of stock, tell us and we will suggest an alternative.
Your design is built from the measurements, photos and sketch you give us. We do not visit your home. If a measurement is wrong, what we design from it will be wrong too — and a sofa that does not fit is not something we can fix after you have bought it. Please measure twice.
We are interior designers, not engineers or contractors. Nothing we deliver is a construction document, a structural opinion, or a substitute for a licensed professional. If your project involves moving anything structural, electrical or plumbed, hire someone licensed in your area. Permits, codes and HOA rules are yours to check.
When you have paid in full, your renders, floor plan, moodboard and Sourcing Guide are yours — to keep, to print, to hand to your contractor, to use in your home, forever.
What stays ours: the underlying drawings, our working files, our methods, and our right to show the finished images in our portfolio — anonymised, as described in our privacy policy. If you would rather your project never appear anywhere, email us and it won't.
What you may not do: resell our deliverables, or present our design as your own work to other clients.
Our renders are produced with the help of third-party AI tools, which means images of your space are uploaded to and processed by those tools. Our privacy policy says exactly which and what that means. If you would rather we didn't, tell us before your project starts.
We promise to give you our real judgment, on time, and to keep working with you through your two revision rounds until the design is right.
We can't promise that you will love it. Taste is taste, and "I've changed my mind about the whole direction" is a redesign, not a revision — see above. Beyond that, our services are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
If we get something wrong, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — furniture you bought and didn't like, a contractor's work, a delayed delivery, or lost time.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything the law does not permit us to limit. Some U.S. states do not allow certain exclusions, and if you live in one, the parts that are not allowed simply do not apply to you.
If something has gone wrong, email us first. We would much rather fix it, or refund you under the refund terms above, than argue with your bank. Opening a chargeback instead of talking to us doesn't change what these terms say you're owed, and we will respond to it with this agreement and our delivery records.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nuevo León, Mexico, and the courts of Monterrey, Nuevo León have jurisdiction. You are waiving your home state's courts, and we want that on the same page as the price, not buried.
Nothing here takes away any consumer right your local law gives you and does not allow you to waive. And before anyone goes anywhere near a court: email us. In four years we have never needed one.
The terms that apply to you are the ones published on the day you paid. We may update this page for future clients; we will not change the deal on you mid-project.
If a court decides some part of these terms doesn't hold, the rest still does.
